Three days before the broadcast I got an e-mail from her saying "I'm so sorry, but my connection misunderstood me and only got one extra ticket, so looks like I'm going and you're not." Oh, if I only had a chakram ... :P
I got over it, though. I rationalized that if I were to go I'd
miss the last train back home and I'd have no place to crash for the night,
so it was for the best. Really. I mean, that way I could watch
the broadcast in my jammies and roll into bed right after, right?
Sure.

Lucy rocked on SNL. Overall I thought it was one of the
better installments of the show in recent memory - I actually laughed out
loud at some of the segments that didn't have Lucy in them, and believe
me, laughing at something on SNL is a rarity for me. It was nice
to see that my impression that Lucy is a top-notch comic actress wasn't
misplaced. I was actually glad to hear her say on Conan (and also
on ET) that after the Xena gig is over she'd like to go into comedy - she's
be perfect for it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: she
really could be the next Tracey Ullman.
So was the Judge Judy sketch the first time Lucy has shown her midriff
in public? Forget about Gab's abs - I want to see more of Xena's abs!
Yow. (I was wondering if the Judge Judy sketch didn't come from Lucy
mentioning somewhere recently that she'd like to meet her - I'm not hallucinating
that she said that, am I?) Hands-down the best sketch was the Stevie
Nicks one, though. I was just about on the floor.
